Enter the Colosseum - the largest amphitheatre built by the ancient Romans. Despite looting and natural disasters over the centuries, the Colosseum stands today as one of Rome's most famous landmarks and attracts millions of visitors every year.

With the Rome Tourist Card you receive an admission ticket with a reserved time slot for the Colosseum. You can also use the same ticket to visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill within 24 hours.

The Colosseum is sometimes fully booked in high season. Therefore, buy your Rome Tourist Card in good time so that you can purchase your ticket for a date that matches your travel dates.

If no regular tickets are available, you can often choose between different options, e.g. Colosseum with multimedia video, Mamertine Prison or guided tour.

Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel

The Vatican Museums in Rome are home to one of the most important and extensive art collections in the world. They extend over 54 museums and 1,400 rooms, in which around 70,000 works are kept, 20,000 of which are on display.

The collection includes masterpieces from various eras, from ancient Egyptian artefacts and Greco-Roman antiquity to works from the Renaissance and contemporary art.

Highlights include the world-famous Sistine Chapel with its frescoes by Michelangelo, Raphael's Stanzas and the Pinacoteca.

The museums attract millions of visitors every year and offer a unique insight into the art and cultural history of the popes.

The Vatican Museums are often fully booked in the high season. Therefore, buy your Rome Tourist Card in good time so that you can purchase your ticket for a date that matches your travel dates.

St Peter's Basilica or Pantheon or Castel Sant'Angelo

Decide on a third attraction and choose between St Peter's Basilica, the Pantheon and Castel Sant'Angelo.

Admission to the famous St Peter's Basilica is generally free. You can therefore also visit the cathedral without a Rome Tourist Card. However, the card includes an audio tour and a visit to the dome. A guided tour with an English-speaking guide is also possible.

The Pantheon in Rome is an impressive ancient building that was originally built as a temple for all the Roman gods and now serves as a Christian church, known for its imposing dome with a central oculus and as one of the best-preserved buildings from Roman antiquity. You will receive an entrance ticket and an audio guide app for the Pantheon.

The Castel Sant'Angelo in Rome is an imposing historical building that was originally built as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian and over the centuries has served as a fortress, papal residence, prison and today as a museum, known for its rich history, art-historical treasures and impressive views over the city. With the Rome Tourist Card you receive a skip-the-line ticket.

Rome audio guide

With the Rome Tourist Card you have free access to an audio guide with information on over 100 sights in the city. Listen to interesting information and see matching pictures. To use the audio guide, you need to download the free POPGuide app. You will need your own headphones for the audio commentary.

Optional: Airport transfer

When booking the Rome Tourist Card, you can choose an optional airport transfer. Choose the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino Airport or the airport shuttle bus from Fiumicino or Ciampino.

Tiqets discount code

After purchasing the Rome Tourist Card, you will receive a discount voucher worth 10%, which you can use for further ticket bookings on Tiqets.com. The voucher is valid for all tickets in Rome.

Is the Rome Tourist Card worth it?

It is easier to book the Rome Tourist Card than to buy individual tickets for all the sights. For this reason alone, the Tourist Card is worthwhile.

It is also suitable under the following conditions:

  • You would like to visit the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica or Castel Sant'Angelo or the Pantheon.
  • You want to have all your reservations finalised before you travel to Rome. You no longer have to worry about appointments and have all your tickets on your phone.
  • Would you like to explore Rome with an audio guide on your phone? Please bring your own headphones and discover the city on your own.
  • You would like to buy another Rome ticket with a 10 % discount. You will find numerous attractions on the Tiqets website: Galleria Borghese, Mamertine Prison, hop-on hop-off bus, etc.

Conclusion: The Rome Tourist Card should be worthwhile for many travellers who are interested in the city's top attractions and want to book their tickets easily.

Disadvantages of the Tourist Card

The Rome Tourist Card is a very good product that is suitable for many travellers. But there are also disadvantages that we don't want to conceal:

  • The purchase cannot be cancelled as several tickets are reserved for you at the time of booking. These cannot be rebooked.
  • You won't save much money with the Rome Tourist Card. It would be cheaper to book individual tickets via the official websites of the attractions. However, this is inconvenient and the allotments sell out quickly.
  • Compared to other Rome Cards, you can only visit a few sights with the Rome Tourist Card.
  • In the high season, tickets for the Vatican Museums or the Colosseum are sometimes sold out. In this case, the Rome Tourist Card is either not available or you have to switch to other attractions.
